Lethbridge is a community that strongly supports and cares for their people. We understand you're in difficult times, and we are here to help, please come and see us. Assistance includes: clothing, household items, furniture and help in emergency disaster services.
How does emergency assistance help me?
When the bills are tight and long overdue one of the first things sacrificed is the groceries. You may be surprised how helpful a food hamper is in your time of need. Hampers not only feed a hungry stomach and help meet your basic needs, but it also gives you the opportunity to pay off an overdue bill so you can breathe a little easier. We partner with the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank - they provide food hampers and we assist with other necessities.
What will you ask me when I come in?
We'll ask how you're doing. We will want to understand your situation a bit, and will ask if you would like us to pray for you (your choice). We will also ask for some ID , household income and house address as well as something to substantiate your emergency situation.
How secure is my information and what I may say to you?
Your information and what you convene to us in the office remains confidential, your information is stored in our database which is shared with other food bank agencies. However, the reason for your visit WILL NOT BE SHARED.
How often do you give out emergency assistance to someone?
This is based on the needs of the individual and depends on the situation. Please do not hesitate to ask for assistance. There is no shame in asking for help in times of need.
